Functional Medicine in Mobile and Baldwin County, Alabama

Dr. Christina Massinople is a board-certified physician based on the Alabama Gulf Coast, practicing root-cause functional medicine for women. She works from Baldwin County and sees patients across Mobile and the whole of Alabama by telehealth.

If you have been round several specialists, had every test come back normal, and still know something is wrong, that is the situation this practice exists for.

Where she practices

The practice is based in Baldwin County and licensed throughout Alabama. Because care is delivered by telehealth, where you are inside the state makes no difference to how you are seen.

Holistic, functional, naturopathic: which is this?

These terms get used as though they mean the same thing. They do not, and the difference matters when you are choosing who to trust with your health.

What people search forWhat it usually means
Functional medicine physicianA licensed medical doctor who uses conventional training to look for the cause of symptoms rather than only managing them. This is what Dr. Massinople is: an MD, board certified, 25 years in clinical practice.
Holistic doctorNot a protected title. It can mean an MD who considers the whole person, or it can mean someone with no medical license at all. Worth checking which, every time.
Naturopathic doctorA different training route entirely, and a different scope of practice. Alabama does not license naturopathic doctors. Dr. Massinople is not a naturopath.

If what you actually want is a medical doctor who will take the time to look properly, that is what this is. If you want a naturopath specifically, this is not that, and it is better to know now.

How to check anyone, including her

Alabama licenses are public. You can verify any physician with the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners in about two minutes, and it is worth doing before you hand over money to anyone describing themselves as a doctor.

What she works with

Mostly women in midlife carrying several things at once. Fatigue that sleep does not fix. Weight that moved and will not move back. Gut symptoms that arrived out of nowhere. Hormonal change and everything that travels with it. Thyroid results that sit at the edge of normal. Brain fog. The long tail of symptoms that no single specialist owns.

Her approach works through sleep, blood sugar, nutrition, muscle, gut function, stress load and hormones in a deliberate order, because each one makes the next work better.

How it works

  1. A discovery call. A short conversation about your history and what you are trying to sort out, and an honest answer about whether this practice is a good fit. Not everyone is.
  2. A full history and targeted testing. Longer than you are used to. Tests are ordered because they will change a decision, not because they are available. Blood draws are done locally.
  3. A plan, worked in order. Foundations first, then the more specific work, adjusted as things change.
  4. Ongoing review. This is care over time rather than one appointment and a protocol.

Insurance

The practice does not bill insurance. That is what makes appointments long enough to do this properly, and it is better known before you book than after.

If you live outside Alabama, Texas or Florida

Medical licensing is state by state, so one-to-one care is limited to those three. That is a legal boundary rather than a preference.

Elevated Foundations exists for everyone else: a physician-designed membership with live monthly teaching, open across the country. It is education and coaching rather than individual medical care, which is what lets it cross state lines. More on how it works.
